Design Direction

After decided yesterday the style of type I wanted to use, I re looked back at the progress I made yesterday and decided I wanted to use 'The Bride & Bride' quote rather than 'Mr & Mr.' Now these decisions have been made I can further experiment with type faces, similar to the earlier illustrations, I have found type faces I like and fit well with the theme for this set, then I have hand drawn over them with ink and nib to manipulate the type faces into what I want and to move away from the neat and strict lines.

This first works really well, the curls and curves in the type are not too over the top but still enough to capture the romance I am looking for in this design. This style is quite modern unlike some of my later designs, which I do really like as it links to the new and modern nature of same sex marriages.

This second type face is much more traditional than the first, I do still really like it in comparison to some of the earlier post however after looking at the above I am unsure as to weather this is a little too traditional and 'samey' to what is already out there. Aside from that is flows really well across the page, I think this is strongly helped by the fact the type is Italic so each word flows in and out of one another.

The third type unlike the previous is much more like a hand written format, because of this I am a little worried it takes away the professionalism and quality I want from this brief. Unlike most of my design work I want to include an element of hand craft however this may perhaps go a little too far and not suit the style I am looking to produce.

The final type face i looked at purely for experimentation, after the laying out of it across the spread, I have decided it is a little too illustrated and out there for the theme of the first set, however it is much more adaptable for use on the second set of products which will have a completely different look to it.
