Product Development

After mocking up the quotes on the post cards I wanted to firstly decide on the layout and design of the postcards, I considered the type and image influences from the books to be used on the postcards. The first example, its plain text and the concentration is on the quote and its more intriguing as to which book this comes from, with it simply just having text the only thing that gives it away are the colours. I really like the simplicity of this especially as the size is miniature, it doesn't have too much going on to distract your attention.

For the second design, I wanted to experiment with including part of the image used in the title, this brought across to the book quote helps link the two further, however it really doesn't work as well I had hoped, perhaps if the type was laid out in the mouse shape similar to the book title, the idea would be much stronger.

The final design looks at including the back page illustration of the vines, this is something which runs throughout all the books, so I though it would be interesting to add this to the postcards as a running theme, however this doesn't work at all, it doesn't seem to match the same theme as the other products, even thought the elements are the same.... strange?
