Early 13th century wallpaper

I have selected some of the earliest wood block wallpaper, its amazing to look at the detail and craft that has gone into the blocks to print the images. The dense and dark decoration is typical of this century as colours and light were not really introduced until later on. I find it amazing how hand crafted and beautiful the detailing is especially on the first wallpaper. We don't use these types of skills anymore for the wallpaper so its really interesting to see the hand crafted elements used in the 13th century.
