Letter Press

Hi Anna! I just feel horrible that I haven't responded to your email yet. I have been so busy preparing for the National Stationery Show that occurred last week that I have just been swamped! I'm sure your deadline has long past, but just in case, I thought I would check in with you.

In any case, I would love to send you a small gift to show my appreciation for your kind words and interest in my products! If you wanted to send me an address I can mail it to, I would love to send you a little something.

Thanks again, Anna!

Where does your inspiration come from for your designs?
My inspiration comes from everyday things...little things that make me happy. Can be as simple as a cup of coffee or a ride on a ferris wheel.

Do you work to briefs or do you suggest your ideas to clients?
A little bit of both. Usually it's a collaboration of ideas...the client has a general idea of what they want and then it's my job to bring it to life.

What are the best stocks to use with a letter press? and are there limitations of what you can/can't use?
I use Crane Lettra paper. It's 100% cotton and takes an impression nicely. You can pretty much print on a variety of media...you just have to make sure you adjust the packing so that you get a nice impression.

How does the Letter Press work?
Oooo...hard to explain in words, but basically, the paper is hand fed, one at a time, into the press. From there, the plate with the design on it comes into contact with the paper, and the design is pressed into the paper.

What machine do you use?
A Golding Pearl #3

What is your favourite thing at the moment?
I'm loving experimenting with different media. Right now, I'm printing on coasters and hope to print on fabric in the near future.
